We're passionate about a future where bi+ people and communities can live happy, healthy, and thriving lives. Our advocacy is focused on elevating distinct bi+ experiences to create change. This is important because we know that most understandings of LGBTQIA+ communities comes from information about gay and lesbian experiences. By increasing understandings of bi+ experiences, we aim to improve services, programming, and policies for bi+ people.
We also know that societal issues are intertwined and that creating a just and equitable world means we work to end oppression in all its forms. This means that intersectional frameworks are at the core of our advocacy.
Sydney Bi+ Network's advocacy includes government submissions, attending rallies, participating in consultations and more. As a volunteer-run group we can't do it all and we especially can't do it on our own. If you are interested in being involved in Sydney Bi+ Network's advocacy please get in contact with us at syd.bi.network@gmail.com. We also organise bi+ community workshops and community conversations so our advocacy is informed by bi+ lived experiences. Keep an eye on our social media or events page for our next session.
